Join Tad Retz for two days of multiple painting demonstrations and critiques. All Attendees will have the opportunity to paint and receive helpful advice and tips. This workshop will be focused around the idea of painting natural, organic scenes composed of rocks, trees, and water with a simple set of materials and simple mindset.
This will be an intimate, personal workshop where questions and answers will be contemplated and tested in unique ways. We will experiment with multiple approaches to painting and push the fundamentals that have taken artists centuries to refine.
To take full advantage of the two days I would like to spend the first day doing small studies with the class and explaining the importance of them. The second day we will paint a little larger, and base our decisions off the initial sketches and studies. I will be using acrylic or gouache for the small studies and oil for the larger painting.
-Each day will be split in two, separated by an hour long lunch break around 12:00.
-The wrap-up time for each day is 4:00 pm.
-Pack a lunch and wear appropriate clothing and footwear
-Size: No more than 15 people
-My Materials list is very lenient. Bring what you like!
